Recession Special Swap Q&A

Category: SwapsMistress Rows @ 8:46 am

Yay Amy for hosting another fantabulous swap! I love Amy’s swaps, they’re always a lot of fun and she’s really on top of her group so that no one gets burned in the long run. On to my Q&A

Do you knit or crochet, or both? How long have you been at the craft? Yes, I do both. I’ve been knitting for over five years, and crocheting for 23.

Do you spin? Yes! I love spinning.

What yarns/fibers are your favorites?
Yarn: I am a big fan of Knit Picks, and I love just about everything they put out. I especially like their blends. I also love Noro and Malabrigo sock yarns, they make great sock AND lace projects.
Fibers: I love Romney, Blue Faced Leicester, Merino… if we’re talking brand names I like the work of Freckle Face Fibers and Into the Whirled, but I’m open to almost anything.

What yarns/fibers do you not like? I don’t like cotton, “outerwear” wools like Icelandic, and I prefer not to spin wool with too much silk in it, 50/50 usually ends up too fussy for my taste.

What yarns/fibers would you like to try but haven’t? I’d like to try milk or seaweed fibers. I haven’t tried Optim, anything with cashmere, or any other exotic fibers. I have tried Alpaca and silk.  I’d love to try the new Knit Picks Tweed yarn. I’m interested in trying sheep breeds I haven’t before, I have tried Falkland, Icelandic, Corriedale, Romney, Merino, BFL, Polypay. Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

What are your favorite colors? Colors that you don’t like? I love rich red, blues, earthy greens, forest colors, black, and dusty or dark plums, dark teal. I do NOT like bright primary colors, most jewel tones, neons, mustard.

What are your favorite types of projects to knit/crochet? I like to knit socks, knit or crochet shawls and wraps, and every once in a while I work on a sweater.

What are you currently working on? A scarf for the Red Scarf Project, a modular shawl out of Noro Silk Garden Sock, and I have to pick back up a sweater in Noro Kureyon for Rhinebeck.

What is your favorite FO? (Please post a picture if you have one.) My mom’s wedding shawl, hands down.

Are there any techniques that you want to learn? Colorwork, perhaps. There isn’t a whole lot out there that I want to try and haven’t. But yes, someday I’d like to make a pair of those beautiful stranded mittens.

Do you have a yarn winder and/or swift? Yes, I have both.

How do you store your needles/hooks? I have interchangeable needles in their cases. The hooks are in a small zipper portfolio.

Do you collect anything? Ravens, frog princes, and Eeyore.

Do you like sweets? I adore dark chocolate with fillings like hazelnuts, almonds, cranberries, raspberry, mint, orange, or lemon flavors.

What are your favorite scents? Eucalyptus, “water”, “clean” scents, citrus. “Green” scents. My favorite perfume is Avon’s Always.

Are you having a birthday during this swap? Nope.

Do you have any online wish lists? (Amazon, Loopy Ewe, etc.) Please include a link for your pal. Yes, they are on the sidebar of my blog.

What is your living situation (Are you married? Do you have kids, pets, or both?) I am married to my best friend, and we have one black cat. We have no children, and do not wish to have any.

Are you allergic to anything? I can’t eat pecans.

Is there anything else that you would like your pal to know? Umm… I love vampires, fantasy, and I read a lot? I guess the About Me section has any odds and ends.

Alone Time

Category: Knitting,SpinningMistress Rows @ 5:37 pm

Tonight is my night alone in the house, and it is always nice to have the apartment to myself. Steve and I both appreciate alone time. I share with you this evening, some things that caught my eye.  A couple of filled bobbins, a moody sky.

Yarn to be, I’m thinking to become socks.

Light and then dark.

Tonight I’ll watch Mansfield Park and I’ll spin and knit by turns. The quiet and solitude will do me good, when I’m feeling off it’s an inexplicable thing and the only thing to do is wait it out.

Tenaciously Tough Top

Category: Friends & Fun,Knitting,SpinningMistress Rows @ 10:48 am

One thing I have learned from SOAR is that the more expensive the fiber was, the more compacted. Why is that so? It’s not how I stored them, both stubborn specimens were stored in the bags they came in, or in a zip lock bag, neither compressed nor vacuum sealed. Both have done a number on my wrist when I’ve pre-drafted, and the pre-drafting WAS a must. One was spun in December, and the other is my most recent project. I find that frustrating, and not something I’ve found with smaller volume dyers. Perhaps it’s bad luck on my part?

Here we see the now finished bobbin I started at WOOL. I have a feeling it’s not very consistent, I found when I got home I started spinning it much finer, when I noticed I corrected the tendency. It’s beautiful though, and I look forward to plying it eventually. When I’m not aching from pre-drafting. The fiber is truly beautiful… beautiful, but mean! Kind of like some of the girls I went to high school with, now that I think about it.

Redwood Forest

Since I badly need a break, and in the spirit of spinning old fiber, I have pre-drafted some Falkland top I got from a swap partner last year. The color is called Yule, and it’s from a previously unknown to me vendor, Chimera. I’m not really getting the Yule aspect, it’s more of an English Rose Garden to me, but that’s neither here nor there. I’m curious to see how I like spinning it. The wool is crimpy, but fairly coarse, however I won’t know if that’s typical until I’ve had more experience with the fiber. I bought some from Cris, and since her stuff is never fried, I’ll have something to compare against. I don’t need to spin buttery fiber all the time, it’ll be nice to try something more sturdy.
Sorry for the poor picture, it was taken at the coffee shop.

Sorry for the poor picture, it was taken at the coffee shop.

I had a bit of an adventure on Sunday, Nufflebutt messaged me on Ravelry to say that she was in town this month and would I like to meet? I like the adventure of meeting strangers, so why not? Sunday worked out best for the both of us, and we spent a few hours happily spinning away and talking at the café/bookstore in Saugerties. Turns out she’s a professional musician, and I had fun listening to her talk about her instrument (the viola), which appealed to my love of learning. And though she’s been spinning for only a little over a year, she’s amassing quite the collection of wheels in really interesting styles and vintages. It was fun to meet her, and a great way to spend a few hours on a lazy Sunday.

See you next summer!

See you next summer!

Definite progress is taking place with my Red Scarf. Now that I’m done with the wedding shawl is done, I’m finding it strange to see how quickly something in worsted weight and size 7 needles can add up. Kinda spooky! The pattern is pretty much mindless, and while it still maddeningly curls some, it’ll have to do. I hope the student who gets it likes it. What’s interesting about this pattern is that it’s really double sided. Both sides have a diagonal slant, but the back lack the floats, thereby making it more subtle.

A crocheted edge will stabilize the top and bottom and I'll fringe from there.

A crocheted edge will stabilize the top and bottom and I'll fringe from there.

Working with the WoolEase has me considering it compared to Plymouth Encore, my other favorite acrylic/wool blend. Encore may be less splitty (it is) and have a slightly better hand, but for the price (roughly half) WoolEase really does compare favorably, even though it’s 15g lighter. One of these days I’ll have to swatch them side by side to compare them more clinically.

Eye Candy Friday

Category: Life & StuffMistress Rows @ 5:27 pm

I do believe this is my first ECF… strangely enough. Therefore, I bring you something epic, something lovely, something SO fantabulous that I simply had to share it with you.

I am standing in water past my knees, that skirt is about 3" above them.

I am standing in water past my knees, that skirt is about 3" above them.

Due to being built in a bowl, on a former marsh, my office parking lot floods if it decides to monsoon. Which it did, this afternoon. Massive, wonderful crashes of thunder you could feel in your chest, and lightning close enough to make you shriek with joy. Well, at least make ME shriek with joy. The above picture was taken where the edge of the parking lot meets the lawn. In the picture below, I’d be standing at the right edge, about in front of the silver car or just past it.

This is the second time in 10 years it's done this, and I was wearing a skirt both times. Go me! I love "playing" in the rain.

This is the second time in 10 years it's done this, and I was wearing a skirt both times. Go me! I love "playing" in the rain.

It’s Board of Directors this week, so the head of Maintenance had to run out and move one of their cars. Bet the member was PISSED when he found out the water was above the edge of his door.

Oooh... so not good.

Oooh... so not good.

But, since my car was ok, I decided I would go home an hour early and call it a day. I had fun taking the pictures, and yelling at the president’s son when he drove his massive truck towards me (on purpose) and hit me with a wake. I got wet. I may have called him some choice names, but as we were both laughing it’s ok.

The trick is to park in the middle of the row, where it takes longer to flood. And to move your car before it DOES flood.

Our site lost power, but because we have trailer size generators we were ok. This was the reason why, constant lightning strikes took out at least one tree, as you see here.

It's way bigger than it looks.

It's way bigger than it looks.

The best picture of all was one I couldn’t take while driving. I cross the Rip Van Winkle bridge every day going to and from work. I live only about four blocks from the bridge, actually, so it’s the last leg of the short trip. As I was starting across, barely 1/4 mile onto it, a GINORMOUS lightning bolt struck just to my left, hitting the side of the hill an orchard grows on. It was HUGE! And PURPLE! And only about 50 FEET AWAY! Hands down one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen/experienced. I was cheering in my car, bouncing in my seat.

I am so lucky to have experienced this afternoon… I’m still giddy. It makes me glad to be alive! What a day! I shall cap it, since I have the house to myself ALL NIGHT, with the entire Pride & Prejudice/Colin Firth tasty goodness movie fest. Life is good. Thanks Jess. :)

Can’t Forget the Loot

Category: Loot,WOOLMistress Rows @ 4:27 pm

One of the things I haven’t posted from WOOL yet is the loot… oh, the loot! Some of it was purchased and some of it was generously given, all of it is wonderful.

Vickie, my SOAR buddy, made me a beautiful gift bag full of the best stuff. Inside I found three bars of gourmet dark chocolate of a Belgian brand I’d not tried before, the best of which is called SEXY. It’s heavily caffeinated and has bits of candied ginger, woohoo! She also included a bar of her own handmade Daisy Lamont cucumber soap (it lathers and smells divine). She saved me empty Altoids tins because I rhapsodized about them at SOAR for notions and business cards, and included a package of delicious smelling tea for my husband. Lastly, she read my comment about the fabulous fleece we used in Maggie Casey’s class and can you believe she pulled out her own last remaining class batt and gave it to me? Thank you, Vickie, you totally overwhelmed me with your generosity. And of course, now I get to think of you every time I take a shower. It doesn’t help that she told me the name of her soap brand was her “stripper name”. I still laugh whenever I think about it!

Look at the crimp in that lock! Oooh, hey, chocolate...

Look at the crimp in that lock! Oooh, hey, chocolate...

Saturday’s vending hour was so much fun, it really was like having a tiny festival, just for us. Every single vending guest brought wonderful things for us to pounce on, and not just yarn and spinning fiber either. We also had box bags, stitch markers, and hand dyed art scarves, in addition to stash for swap or sale. All of my favorite local dyers were there, and I couldn’t stop myself from picking up a few braids. I have to support my vendors, right? And since I do believe every single one of them had some sort of WOOL discount in effect, the hooks were baited well.

From Leann at Enchanted Hues I picked up her newest, “Eastwick”, named for the upcoming show based on the Witches of Eastwick movie. I may actually run this one through the drum carder to come up with a more heathery blend, which I’m sure she’ll appreciate given her focus that weekend.

Moody blues, just how I like it.

Moody blues, just how I like it.

From Carolyn (See Kay Knit) I picked up some fresh-from-the-dyepot BFL in a colorway very close to my recent Poisoned Apple, appropriately called Rubies. I love me some BFL, there really wasn’t anything to be done for it.

Hard to photograph just so, but this is close.

Hard to photograph just so, but this is close.

From Cris at Into the Whirled I bought one delicious braid of a wool/silk in a dappled sage and brown. She has graciously allowed me to dub it “Kelpie” for the wicked water horse of Celtic myth. It certainly sucked me under. Later I came back for some Falkland, a fiber that is new to me. It’s plummy, and moody, and very purty. I’ve already told Cris I’m going to need another 4oz of the Kelpie, I see a shawl or a hat/scarf combo in the future.

Mmm... purty.

Mmm... purty.

My pictures in general do not do any of the above acquisitions justice, my new camera doesn’t behave quite like my old one and I’m still getting used to it. Suffice to say that I look forward to some really enjoyable spinning once I get done spinning up my current project.

I’ll close by saying that I am so very proud of all the guests who took a chance and vended at WOOL. You all brought beautiful things, and many of you went to extra trouble to do it. I know I’m not alone in appreciate the fruits of your labors! At least I can say I sold almost as much stash as what I bought, so there’s a shred of dignity to be salvaged. :P

Oh, Hi Summer…

Category: Festivals,Friends & Fun,KnittingMistress Rows @ 5:14 pm

Oh, hi Summer, thanks so much for showing up – cranky, hung over, and ready to throw your weight around for the annual fabulousness that is August in Upstate NY. One of the reasons I don’t go to the Ren Faire anymore is that the circuit doesn’t hit NY until August, and since I simply MUST go gowned… eh, not so much with the oodles of sweat in 8 yards of cloth anymore. It’s REALLY hot and humid out here now. I think my at work knitting breaks out at the picnic table have officially ended till sometime in September. Wanna see what a knitter’s tan looks like?

Arms bent, as if I'm sitting at the table, knitting.

Kinda like a farmer's tan, only for knitters.

Kinda like a farmer's tan, only for knitters.

Eh! Too hot!

Eh! Too hot!

Things are progressing smoothly with my Panda Fan Shawl, I figure that as of right now I’ve reached the halfway point. One of the pluses to working with the Noro Silk Garden sock yarn is that if I run out it’s not like it’s a big deal… I’m already alternating from skein to skein, so what’s another two thrown into the mix? It should all work out well, one way or another. Also now on the needles, I have started work on my Red Scarf project. It did end up self-designed. I searched and searched, but I couldn’t find a pattern that I liked for a solid yarn, I’m predisposed to lace (not appropriate) and I didn’t want to work cables. Barbara Walker books to the rescue! I’ve had to rip out once already, but I have high hopes for my second attempt.

Note to Self: WRITE PATTERN DOWN.

On the personal front, I want to thank my friend Harriet for cajoling me into attending the Altamont Fair this weekend. Steve had two free tickets, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to feel up to going. Turns out I did, and we made a beeline to the Wool Barn to join up with her and Tim, her husband. There I was introduced to some lovely people including the owner of The Spinning Room, the nice ladies who run the wool booth, Harriet’s friend (and fleece enabler) Bev, and the talented Madeleine of Ewe & Me Merinos. It was really odd, apparently Harriet had been talking me up before I got there, to the point that when Steve and I finally did arrive I felt like a minor member of the Knitterati. Steve actually used the term to describe the situation, he thought he made it up and was really proud of himself. I give him points for it though, he doesn’t read knitting blogs after all!

Kinda like a saw horse, she sits at the back end and works from here.

Kinda like a saw horse, she sits at the back end and works from here.

Madeleine has some REALLY cool toys. Her husband built her a modifed saw-horse with built in storage, allowing her to take the skirtings from her merino sheep and create the most lovely roving from something that would normally be thrown away! She uses 5 pitch combs that were also custom made for her. How cool is that?!

She lashes the skirting onto the stationary comb and goes to town.

We didn’t stay long at the fair in general, but between that and leaving my contact information on two gaw-juss Romney fleeces. We saw some beautiful skeins and knitted items, but it was the fleeces that stole my heart. Mmm… Romney. Not forgetting the fried dough and lemonade with friends, it was time well spent.

Pain, Progress, & Projects

Category: Internettage,Knitting,Life & StuffMistress Rows @ 12:26 pm

(Warning: Semi-whiny ‘it’s my blog and I’ll whine if I want to’ post ahead.)

I am one week returned from that incredible madness that is WOOL. Exhaustion and Fibromyalgia pain are the theme of the week, but I’ve been going to bed an hour early every night to help give myself the extra rest I need. I passed on Knit Night, and have done little aside from cook dinner and wash dishes every night this week. If the pain in my neck, shoulder, arms, wrists and back don’t subside by tomorrow I’ll consider going back on the Lyrica. I don’t want to, it makes me dizzy and gives me brain fog (how ironic) but it really does help with the pain. Of course, it does take a while to start working, but there’s much to be said for the placebo effect. Clap your hands if you believe in fairies!

I’m still catching up on emails, and with the move all comments to the most recent post (and some of the WOOL post) have been misdirected. That’s all taken care of now. I like my new real time map, while it’s not as pretty, it has more features than the old service I was using. I’m kinda weirded out by the new version of Feedjit’s visitor log though. My friends in fiber blog roll will be coming back shortly, unfortunately I have to enter them all in again.

In knitting news, my Panda Fan Shawl is coming along nicely. It really catches people’s eye, there were lots of compliments at WOOL, but most gratifying of all is that it’s fun to knit. Diane (blogless) is knitting up one in her own pale green handspun, she cast on at WOOL after hearing me talk about how much fun it is. I can’t wait to see how hers comes out, it’s going to look so subtle and elegant, and I think I’ll do the same in time and make one out of my own handspun too. I can’t wait to block it out and see it in all it’s vibrant glory.

It's further alon now, but you get the gist.

It's further along now, but you get the gist.

Two skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock, alternating motif per motif.

Two skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock, alternating motif per motif.

Soon I’ll be casting on for my Red Scarf Project and I’m contemplating what pattern to do. I want to make sure I pick (or design) a pattern I’ll enjoy knitting, but I also want to make it more unisex than not. I’m going to be making it out of Wool Ease, one of my favorite acrylic blend yarns. I figure a college student might be too busy to separate out laundry that’s been thrown around, and would feel bad if their scarf got felted in the wash. Any suggestions for favorite, fun, unisex scarf patterns? I want to make something a student would feel proud to get and wear. I have a feeling I’ll be spending some time searching my library on Ravelry. Love that feature!

Also, wish me luck. I’m working on colorways. More on that to come soon.

And I haven’t mentioned it here on the blog, but we’ve lost our third house bid now. This one was my dream house (though not dream location by far). Changes are being made.

I was also attacked by hornets on Tuesday and stung multiple times on my left hand trying to rescue my knitting.  Can I have a weekend now?

WOOL 2009: The One With the Fun Fur Coconut Bra

Category: Friends & Fun,WOOLMistress Rows @ 4:54 pm

Finally! Beautiful days at Wiawaka.

Finally! Beautiful days at Wiawaka.

Whenever I sit down to do a WOOL wrap-up post I find my fingers don’t know quite where to start. This year I think, instead of a day by day, I’ll write about highlights instead.

Amy, beautiful, bawdy broad.

Amy, beautiful, bawdy broad.

Far Away Friends:
Surely one of the best parts of this year’s event was spending time with my far away friends. Amy visited from Virginia and we spent most of the week together, sharing and laughing. She experienced the beauty of Wiawaka for the first time, and even learned how to spin. We both hope that next year her schedule will allow her to attend. My SOAR friend Vickie also came, to my absolute delight, and not just because she gave me the most thoughtful gift bag as a “hostess” gift. I hope that Vickie and I can hook up again pre-WOOL ’10, she’s the kind of person you want to have in your life much more often than that, but I’ll settle for what time and distance allows!

First Timers:
I was blown away by how many first timers we had this year! Previous guests brought friends, and others decided to take the plunge all on their own. Watching the dynamics play out was interesting. Natural clans sorted themselves out as the hours passed. We had the Jersey gals, the just-getting-starteds, holistic/alternative ladies, and those that defied classification. It was fun to watch as people got to know each other, and learn from their vastly different perspectives.

Flat Out Funny:
I think the pictures speak for themselves, I laughed so hard I almost cried. Also funny? Apparently we are tied with another group of knitters for most recyclables of the 21 and up kind… and yet everyone was well behaved and safe as houses.

Blue Whales bring out your best side.

Blue Whales bring out your best side.

There was this thing on the WOOL board about coconut bras and it just went so wonderfully wrong from there.

There was this thing on the WOOL board about coconut bras and it just went so wonderfully wrong from there.

Festival Like Atmosphere:
WOOL attendees really pulled out the stops with both the silent auction (to benefit Wiawaka) and the vending hour. A big thank you to Sairy, Sharon, and everyone else who helped me get the auction ready, and thank you to EVERYONE who donated items and bid so generously! In particular, there was a certain braid of Spincerely Yours in Sandpiper, and Vickie’s fantastic woven “Awesome Gift Basket of Love” that I thought we were going to come to blows over. All told we raised $300 even. Part of the proceeds went to help the Female Veterans program happening later this summer at Wiawaka, and the rest went to fund scholarships and repairs.

Fantastic vendors, happy shoppers.

Fantastic vendors, happy shoppers.

Vending was out of this world, we had triple the amount of vendors this year as we had in years past. The vendors went all out, many dyeing fiber and yarn just for WOOL, and almost all of them offering fantastic discounts to my guests. I may have just come home with a few items, but it helped that I sold a few items from my stash too. It was just like being at a tiny fiber festival, just without the baby strollers and elbowing people out of the way. I consider that a plus. Maybe next year I should rent a sheep and an alpaca and then we can really feel at home. ;)

Found: Moments of Serenity
Hosting WOOL is always an adventure in management skills. Thank you to everyone who put their best foot forward, rolled with the spirit of adventure, and a focus on friendliness. A very special thank you to Diane who went the extra mile at every turn to make sure I had what I needed, when I needed it, and who did more than her fair share of clean up.

Quiet time as the day ends.

I’d like to also thank the weather, which was absolutely lovely until just before we all started to leave. While truly chilly at night and in the morning, it was gorgeous and sunny during the day. I got to spend several hours on the dock, spinning in the sun and finding my moments of Zen.

I'm all warm and fuzzy inside just seeing that. :)

We are dancing monkeys for the Minnehaha's amusement!

We are dancing monkeys for the Minnehaha's amusement!

So, there you go… WOOL 2009 is officially over and done with, nothing but memories, photos, sunburns and stash enhancement to remind you of the fun we all had. August 2010 may seem forever and a day away, but time will fly by, as it always does. Thank you to all my guests, no matter how long your stay, for making this year so wonderful. I wouldn’t do it if you weren’t having fun! I loved meeting you all, new friends and old. See you next year!

Last Minute WOOL Stuff

Category: WOOLMistress Rows @ 12:43 pm

WOOL is only a day away, believe it or not. Only one more day of work before you get to pack up the car and head for the hills… literally! I am behind on my email. If you have emailed me in the last two weeks or so, and I haven’t replied, please know that I’m not ignoring you. I happen to know I also deleted, by mistake, a really long and supportive email from a Carol (I think), and I wanted to say thank you, and that’s my favorite movie of the Blade Trilogy!

Here’s a list of the last minute information and reminders you should take a glance at. If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, or by someone on the Ravelry board, ask it today or CALL ME. Your 2-week out email will have my cell phone number. If you lost the email, ask for it on our Ravelry board. If it’s a Wiawaka specific question, you should call them directly at 518-668-9690.

Weather:
It looks like the weather is going to be about 5-10F cooler than the Hudson Valley, we’ll be lucky to crack 75 while we’re there. Remember, this is the Adirondacks, it’s definitely cooler than down in the valley. Nights look to be around the mid-to-high 50’s, but don’t count on that. I’m NOT joking about bringing layers and comfy pj’s. I don’t want to hear any whining that you’re cold! :P It also looks like a chance of T-storms while we’re there. I hope we get at least a few nice hours each day, the dock is calling my name. Don’t forget your sunblock and bathing suits, we may be pleasantly surprised.

Splurging:
Don’t forget to bring your cash. We will have some awesome vendors displaying their wares on Saturday. I have started a thread just for special WOOL vendors and promotions, should a vendor wish to promote their wares and/or discounts.

Wiawaka Rules:
These are the gist of Wiawaka’s rules… These are off the top of my head, you’ll find the complete list of resort guidelines in your room.

  • No smoking in or around buildings or common areas. You’ll have to take a walk off the beaten path if you want a smoke.
  • Please limit use of cellphones in public areas, if you have to make or take a call, please do so outside the public areas.
  • If you will not be dining for a particular meal, please advise a member of staff and they will take your absence into account.
  • You are responsible for stripping your bed and depositing all your linens in the linen hamper when you leave.

Other Scheduled Events:
It looks like there’s a busy weekend at Wiawaka this year, there are several workshops and even a concert while we are there! As guests you are permitted to join these events for free, unless there is a fee otherwise noted on the full listing. See their calendar of events.

  • Fri, Aug 7 Yoga Happy Hour (4:15 PM – 5:15 PM) House of Trix
  • Sat, Aug 8 Classical Concert (7:30 PM – 8:30 PM) Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius & Heard will play an evening concert Satuday August 8th.
  • Sat, Aug 8 Scrabble Weekend at Wiawaka House of Trix
  • Sat, Aug 8 Revitalizing Passion & Desire-A Workshop (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) House of Trix

Remember to Pack:

  • Layering items to keep warm
  • Long PJs to keep warm
  • Socks to keep warm
  • Bathing suit and beach towel, just in case
  • Shorts, for when it does warm up
  • Sun block
  • Ear plugs, if you’re sensitive to snoring or sounds when sleeping
  • Your Friday Night Fab & Fug Fest items (best and/or worst projects to show and share, of any fibery sort including handspun)
  • Stash to swap and sell during the vending time, or to donate for the silent auction.
